D-Day Memorial Fund Raising Campaign

A new D-Day Monument is under construction at the Juno Beach Centre in Normandy, France, to honor the 381 Canadian soldiers, including seven RCAMC members who died on June 6, 1944. Shaped like a 5-meter-tall spearhead formed by the intersection of two panels with maple leaf cut-outs.  It will be the first Canadian memorial on Juno Beach to list the names of every Canadian who fell on the shoreline during the D-Day landings, including seven members of the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corps.

The RCMSA has launched a fund-raising campaign in support of this project and has committed $𝟏,𝟎𝟎𝟎 to start us off. Now, we are calling on our members, friends, and supporters to help us reach our $5,000 goal by December 31, 2026 and your contribution will go twice as far thanks to the generosity of Canso Investment Counsel Ltd. and Lysander Funds Ltd every dollar donated will be matched dollar-for dollar.

Construction of the memorial is part of an expansion of the Juno Beach Centre code named Project Concordia with an estimated total cost of $12.5 million. Construction is underway, with completion expected in 2028 ahead of the 85th anniversary of D-Day.
